Description
Author: David Evans. 274 pages, paper back. Published April 2011. Reprinted April 2018 as the fifth edition.
This 4th and 5th editions follow the same chapter structure as the 3rd edition. The increased number of pages is mainly a result of changes in the format at the end of each chapter.
The need for a reprint has given opportunity to incorporate feedback from tutors and students and thus improve the user-friendly nature of this work for instruction in the Truth. This will be readily seen when one reads the first chapter introducing the Bible.

FOR a number of years the Bible correspondence course published by The Christadelphian Scripture Study Service, called Exploring the Bible, has been extensively and successfully used to teach those learning the Truth. It provides a very helpful addition to the available range of preaching resources. Translations have already been completed into German, Chinese, French, and Mongolian and others are under way.
The "Learn to Read the Bible Effectively" seminars (and distance learning course) have taken account of the fact that so many people today know little about the Bible and need to be helped to find their way around it. Some of our courses assume that the recipients more or less know their way around the Bible and can therefore cope with the accumulation of Biblical references that support the doctrines being expounded. It is not unknown for students to complete courses and give all the right answers, without ever reading the Bible. It can be disconcerting to interview someone for baptism in a mission area, for example, and find that they know our doctrines, but mention the Passover lamb in connection with the Lord's sacrifice and they simply do not have the background knowledge and understanding.
