Author: John Allfree, paper back, 93 pages. Published by Bible STudy Publications in 2005.
Deals with the early history of Edom described in Genesis 36 through to the present day. The importance of Edom in the Biblical record is demonstrated in Genesis 36 where 32 verses are used to describe it, compared with seven verses for the Ishmaelites (Genesis 25), and six verses for the Canaanites (Genesis 10).
The subject of Edom must be important. There are some 120 verses of prophecy that have to do with Edom of which 50 verses have to do with end-time prophecy. When these end-time Edom prophecies are discussed there is often intense disagreement with respect to their significance. The two different views are considered in this book and the author makes the case for moving in the direction of harmonisation and reconciliation, and away from unnecessary contention.
The final four chapters of the book consider the amazing end-time revival of Edom and its final destruction along with other Edom-like nations.
Gaza, Lebanon, the Golan Heights and the West Bank are all flash points today which place the Edom-like nations at the forefront of the fight against israel. This book sets out a sound Biblical perspective on present day events.
