King Josiah was undoubtedly a remarkable man. He humbled himself before the Word of God and turned to Him with all his heart, soul and strength. He did not deviate from the narrow way and was known not just for zeal but also for his lovingkindness. Sadly his fine example was ignored by the kings who followed - his sons and grandson - all of whom were condemned for doing "evil in the sight of the Lord" even though in two cases they only reigned for three months.
How could such a man who devoted his life to learning and living the scriptures produce three sons who by their early twenties were thoroughly corrupt? The question will be of keen interest to those bringing up children in a world filled with corrupting influences. The earnest desire of every Christadelphian parent is that their children will follow the example of Josiah and not the example of his sons.
The material in this book was first published as a series of articles in The Christadelphian from June 1994 to December 1995. In addition to the articles the book contains an Index of Scripture references and a Subject Index.
